Representation Through Humiliation

And now the real battle begins ...

Terri Schiavo has died

Terri Schiavo, the 41-year-old brain-damaged woman who became the centerpiece of a national right-to-die battle, died Thursday morning, nearly two weeks after doctors removed the feeding tube that had sustained her for more than a decade.

The battle to keep her body alive is over with. The battle to prove she was never brain dead is still going on.

You know this won't be settled anytime soon. There will be an autopsy, then accusations, then court hearings.

I do feel that her husband was the right person to make decisions for her. And maybe after the initial shock and the above, then perhaps her parents can start to heal.

I feel for them, I truly do.
