Representation Through Humiliation

Good Friday

Happened to remember just now that today is in fact, Good Friday. The day when Jesus supposedly died on the cross. (I say "supposedly" not because I doubt his death but because I've learned to be wary of the general consensus, and the general consensus demands that Jesus died today.) As I've commented earlier this week, Good Friday is probably not those most appropriate name for a day of mourning. It turns out, though, that "good" used to mean "holy" which leads me to ponder the phrases "good job", "good man", "good shot", al infinitum.
