Representation Through Humiliation

The Steroid Hearings, of course, are topping the front page of many of the country's papers. Pictures of McGuire, Sosa, Canseco, and Selig in arms-folded teeth-clenched poses are circulating MSM at a surprising rate. I have no strong feelings on this topic. Of course cheating by pumping chemicals into your body isn't a good thing, but there are more important things in this world than finding out who's been cheating at baseball.

Terrie Schiavo, too, has been attracting alot of attention, what with the controversy that have been surrounding her existence for longer than I can remember. The case this time semms to be that several judges are saying different things about whether or not to pull her feeding tube. Me? I think they should definitely get her off that support and end it, but I'm against taking out the feeding tube to starve her to death. That seems cruel in principle, even though it's ver likely she'll never feel a thing. Let's face it, she's been dead for years and years and years. Her existence now is not her life. Moving on.

Other than the two major stories: not too much. More talk over the rising gas prices. More pictures of Robert Blake. More March Madness. (sigh...)
