Representation Through Humiliation

The Name Game

From the March 29 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends First:
KILMEADE: You know that guy John Bolton, who seems to speak his mind and that bothers a lot of people in the diplomatic world? Well, it bothers people so much that -- he is going to be the man nominated to be the next ambassador to the United Nations from the U.S. -- that 59 former U.S. diplomats have signed a letter and given it to Senator Lugar and said, "Do me a favor, don't nominate this -- don't confirm this guy. Just kick him out! We don't want him there!"

HILL: Here's what struck me about that story. Here are a couple of the names of the diplomats who don't want John Bolton to get the nomination: Princeton Lyman, Monteagle Stearns, and Spurgeon Keeny --

KILMEADE: Those guys again!

HILL: Just odd names.

KILMEADE: Who the heck are they?

HILL: You've got to have one of these funky names to be an ambassador. Who names their kid Spurgeon?

KILMEADE: But you know what, the coolest name in sports -- You know what, sometimes you look at an infant and you think, "That's a Spurgeon."

HILL: Monteagle? Monteagle? [laughing]

PRODUCER (off-screen): That's my son's middle name.

KILMEADE: Thank you, and now you've insulted the executive producer.

HILL: Honestly, I love the name. I mean, people think the names I pick are crazy too.

Something this hilarious has to be watched in bursting 24-color video.
